Once upon a time, there was a wife preparing to go on holiday, but she feared for her husband’s fidelity when left with the temptation of their Swedish au pair, so she left an apple on the au pair’s bed. Her husband was, after all, a doctor. Ever since apples were given a bad rep in the Garden of Eden, marketing gurus have been trying to recover the brand image and sell the fruit. The Beatles probably did more than anyone to put things back on the straight and narrow. For an all-too-brief moment, the record label was the fountainhead of some great music. Then it lived on in mothballs as the Fab Four fought over ownership of their back catalog.
After a few years, by some unknown means, the mantle of greatness was passed to Steve Jobs who, if you believe his fans’ blogs, walks on water every Tuesday just because he can. This candle of leadership has flickered in the wind, but Apple has now decided to confirm its status as a shaper of culture. Gone are the days when it just focused on the hardware. Now it’s all about the content. The numbers never lie. There have been more than 2 billions apps downloaded for the iPhone and iPod in the last eighteen months. That’s 6.3 million downloads a day. One of the more exciting is “Fire Up Your Sex Drive”. The developer is nothing if not inventive. He claims the app generates some powerful alpha waves. Exposing male users will enhance their sexual performance by up to 85% in less than two weeks. Presumably, the app broadcasts alpha male waves. What’s interesting is Apple’s willingness to allow its distribution. It used to have a reputation of being a little prudish. It seems some of the faux puritanism is rubbing off.
Fans also liked to think of their sport as being pure. This was athleticism elevated to art, and performance was endlessly analyzed to prove who were the best. In MLB, for example, people used to think Roger Clemens was just pleased to see his female fans. Now it turns out he was stuffing little blue pills into his locker. Indeed, the combination of steroids and Viagra seems to have been not uncommon among sportsmen. The theory is that, with the blood vessels dilated, the steroids reach the muscles faster and are taken up more efficiently. Whether you want to develop the top-heavy look favored by some football and baseball players, there’s no doubt of Viagra‘s real power to dilate arteries to good effect. Almost all men not suffering from physical incapacity or serious depression find Viagra works the first time they take it and produces consistently hard erections on all subsequent occasions. It’s a shame the manufacturers came along just a little too late to take over the “apple” brand. That image of a bite taken out of a green apple could have been the image to really launch the brand. As it is, customers have had to struggle with a foreign-sounding name. Fortunately, men have proved fast learners when it comes to passing on word of this drug’s power. It could probably have been called Xlzwp (Eden in the Serbo-Croatian language) and still have become the world’s most popular drug.
Among the spineless liberals, there’s always worry about the number of people walking around with guns. Thank God for the NRA being in support of the right of all citizens being allowed to be armed to the teeth just in case there’s a call to join a militia. We can all sleep safer in our beds. And as a perfect example of how to approach problem-solving with the help of a gun, we can’t do better than travel over to Michigan. So here comes the facts. Kathy lost her job. It was nothing exciting. Just disposing of hazardous waste. Then, about a month ago, one of her dogs took her by surprise and, with an unexpected lunge, seriously damaged her shoulder. There was just one problem. With the loss of her job, she had lost her health insurance. So what does a practical woman do when she can’t afford the treatment and she’s in severe pain?
Well, Kathy was staying with her in-laws and, as is the way of folk in small towns, they were the proud owners of some guns. As Kathy put it, the emergency room needs to see a life-threatening situation, so she decided to give them one. With impressive bravery, she took a gun and shot herself in her already injured shoulder. When the deed was done, her mother-in-law called in a shooting and the ambulance came. As she was spirited off to hospital, the police joined up the dots and concluded a self-inflicted wound.
Given the continuing opposition of the GOP to the reforms now called Obamacare, it should come as a shock to see one of the more than one million uninsured in Michigan resorting to bullets to get medical treatment. What are people to do when the pain is too severe for Tramadol on its own to bring relief? This is not a suicide attempt. This is a protest against a healthcare service that will only fix uninsured people if there’s a real emergency. Surely, in a civilized society, no one should be driven to such extreme measures. Worse, of course, is the threat she may also be prosecuted for shooting herself. That really would add insult to injury.
So there we have it. When the routine painkillers like Tramadol are just not strong enough to deaden the pain, desperation sets in. Perhaps we should look to excuse her because of the pain. People don’t always act quite so rationally when in pain. Or perhaps we should say she’s courageous and prepared to let nothing stand in the way of getting treatment. Whichever, the reality is she’s had the bullet removed and is now lined up for surgery on the damaged shoulder. While she’s waiting for the dust to settle, the hospital has said it will talk terms on installment payments, and has given her some free Tramadol to manage the pain. This is all better news for her even though the drugs may not be strong enough. We will just have to hope the pain does ease. Now the $64,000 question. If you were uninsured and in pain, how far would you go to get treatment? Kathy turned the gun on herself. Perhaps she should have committed a crime like robbery. People awaiting trial in custody are entitled to free treatment. What’s your answer?
Male enhancement underwear is the latest happening in male enhancement methods and men’s underwear. Men who have reportedly succumb to this newest male fashion trend say that wearing this type of underwear is fun and adventurous, giving a most welcome sense of excitement to the wearer. More importantly, wearing this type of underwear provides the wearer with much-needed confidence, one he might not be able to experience if he were to come out wearing ordinary underwear that shows his real, puny size.
Wearing male enhancement underwear can indeed be fun because there are so many designs to choose from, from playful colors and teasing cuts to classy forms and modest appeal. The wearer has total control over what product to wear – and there’s one for every mood and occasion! Different brands boast of several styles to consider, all with unique features and signature looks. If you are new at buying male enhancement underwear, it’s best to shop around first and compare prices and creative outputs before settling on a label.
You might be wondering why many men prefer male enhancement underwear over other more common male enhancement methods that have already established their effectiveness, such as natural male enhancement pills, patches, and lengthening equipment or devices. The answer is simple: aside from the already explained fun factor, wearing male enhancement underwear is also a lot more convenient. This is because it poses no irreversible or irreparable damage, such as impotency, erectile dysfunction, or partial or complete loss of penal sensation.
However, like any other male enhancement method in the market, the use of male enhancement underwear also has its disadvantages or hidden secrets, albeit they are of a less serious nature. For one, wearing this type of underwear may cause some discomfort, especially when the wrong size is chosen, which is likely to happen if you order online and can’t give the right measurements. Most brands use a pouch, which is then responsible for holding your thing. Smaller underwear, if forced on, may cause bulging and testicular choking due to your penis’ inability to relax in its original size. Thus, it is important to learn how to measure your maleness and to never, ever insist on wearing underwear unless it’s of the right size.
Another potential disadvantage is the existence of skin problems. Male enhancement underwear products are made of components that are different from the ones used to make ordinary underwear. This is because this type of underwear is designed to promote penile enlargement and must make use of resources that will allow the wearer to use it anytime he needs to, whether in public or in private, under water or in dry land, at night or during the day. Most products use synthetic material, which may irritate sensitive skin, triggering allergies or causing rashes. It is best to consult your doctor whether the underwear you are eyeing is safe for you.
A good deal of research and proper precautions must be taken to protect yourself from the harmful things advertisements of male enhancement underwear products do not tell you.
Prostate cancer is often treated successfully if it is caught early, but in its very early stages there may not be any visible symptoms. Prostate cancer early symptoms often don’t become apparent until the cancer has progressed enough to put pressure on the urethra. When this happens it may cause symptoms such as pain when urinating and pains in the pelvic area, although these may be caused by something completely different so do not mean you have cancer.
Some of the early prostate cancer symptoms are:
Sudden need to urinate, often at night Painful urination and/or ejaculation Irregular urine flow Blood in urine (in some rare cases) Pain in hip or pelvic area
Again, these symptoms do not mean you have cancer, as they can be caused by many other conditions. However if you do start to have these prostate cancer early symptoms occurring, then you should contact your GP who will be able to advice you whether a test or scan is required. This will be able to determine whether you have cancerous cells in the prostate gland.
If cancerous cells are detected, then depending on your age, health and progression of the tumour (which is rated using the Gleason scale) a treatment program will be recommended by your doctor. The final say in what treatment is performed is always down to the patient however. As prostate cancer is a relatively slow growing cancer that affect predominantly older men, in many cases the man dies of other causes before the prostate cancer takes effect.
ED is not a chronic or permanent condition and can be treated
The vast experience is studying erectile dysfunction in men and numerous clinical tests have confirmed that the condition can be reversed to 35% of the initial state if treated with conventional methods. In some cases natural treatments can have very beneficial effects in the patient, while in others conventional medications are the key to restoring healthy sexual functions. There’s no secret about the fact that by improving health in overall, men tend to improve their sexual abilities too. Such evident things as physical exercises, lack of alcohol abuse and smoking usually make the restoring process much easier. Not to mention that these lifestyle changes will improve the quality of life in general.
Medical options for restoring sexual abilities
PDE-5 inhibitors are the most popular and common choice for treating erectile dysfunction. These medications usually come in the form of oral pills, which is rather convenient as compared to such forms as injections. However, there are drugs that are delivered with injections (directly to the penis) or insertion pallets. Regardless of the administration method, PDE-5 inhibitors have the same mechanism of action that let overcome erectile dysfunction and stimulate hard and durable erection. These drugs stimulate the blood flow into the penile shaft, which is crucial for good erections. Some of the most popular PDE-5 inhibitors include such drugs as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis. They are often believed to be the most effective and simple solution to erectile dysfunction, and it’s not far from truth taking the fact that they help in the majority of cases. However, before you buy Cialis or Viagra you should get a doctor’s prescription and the exact dosage in order to use these drugs effectively. You can also find a lot of additional information on these medications in the Internet.
Sometimes erectile dysfunction can be caused by the effects of other drugs. Medications used for treating anxiety, depression, mental illnesses, chest pain, hypertension and other conditions often deliver negative effects on a man’s sexual abilities. Cutting down the dosage of these drugs usually helps restore good erections. In other cases ED can be a symptom of a more serious health condition such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, heart disease, prostate disease and so on. And by fighting the actual cause you can improve the affected functions over a certain period of time. It is best to discuss the problem with your doctor and find effective solutions that will help restore your sexual functions and improve your health at the same time.
Lifestyle changes really matter
As mentioned above, employing a healthier lifestyle can have a very beneficial effect over men’s health. Stop drinking and smoking, start exercising, lose weight if you are overweight or obese. Follow a balanced diet, rich with natural fibers, vitamins and minerals. Your sexual functions are very sensitive to any problems that affect the body in general, and by keeping your overall health in a good condition you will maintain good erections for much longer and won’t need generic Cialis to make you enjoy sex anytime and anywhere you like. It’s so simple, but most men tend to forget about that.
A loud party with the friends at the club or bar until the sunrise, a nice hookup with a beautiful girl, and a good time spent in bed with that lady. Definitely a good time spent for a man, and it’s hard to imagine all that without a heavy dose of drinking and smoking. The whole concept of partying itself is based on alcohol consumption and it’s hard to avoid it even if you don’t want to drink. Remember how your friends are reacting to the claim that you’re not drinking this time? Exactly! And despite the fact that smoking is less popular these days and there are restrictions on it in many bars and clubs, when you drink past your limit it’s hard to stop your hand from lighting a cigarette even if you don’t smoke at all.
But what about the “girl in the bed” part of the story? After all that heavy drinking, ending up in bed with a woman and hoping for good sex is somewhat unrealistic for many men. There’s no big secret that alcohol and good sex just don’t come along. Of course, having a glass of wine or something stronger can be arousing and very stimulating in terms of sex, but what happens after you drink a bottle of whiskey? Having a noodle in your pants when trying to have sex with a lady you’ve just met isn’t a particularly good idea of occasional sex. Of course, some you men can pull it off, as their sexual health is so strong that they can be very drunk and still have good erection. But when you’re far away from being young, heavy drinking is not a good companion for sex. Moreover, it delivers you a great risk of having constant sexual problems the more you drink. That is because heavy alcohol consumption damages the cardiovascular system which is crucial for maintaining good erection. The longer you abuse on alcohol the harder it will be getting good erections, and any alcoholic will tell you how depressing it may be.
Smoking can have just the same effects on sexual health as heavy drinking. Of course, smoking won’t affect your ability to get and maintain an erection, but will you be able to have sex long enough while coughing and trying to breathe? Just as with any other physical activity, you will find that having sex is a hard task and will drift off to a more passive role in bed even if you use Viagra. Imagine the effects of that on your sexual activity. Not to mention the negative impact on fertility smoking delivers both to men and women.
Having a cigarette after a good shared orgasm is a clich? move, and it’s not quite realistic because numerous studies show that about 40% of male smokers have sexual problems. Smoking raises the likelihood of suffering from ED by 50% in adult men. And even if you buy Viagra the impact of smoking will still accumulate and decrease the effectiveness of the drug.
So it turns out that the usual things accompanying a good party – alcohol and cigarettes – are the things that can ruin the pleasant finale of such a party. The choice of what is more important is yours as always.
When speaking about pain relief options, Western medicine heavily relies on pharmaceutical solutions that are effective in most cases but tend to deliver unpleasant side-effects. In rare cases, traditional medications just have no effect and the patient is forced to look for alternative solutions. That is when people discover alternative pain relief. Although, its alternativeness relates only to the Western medicine, as most alternative pain relief techniques are based on traditional Oriental practices that are thousands of years old.
One of the most common methods associated with alternative pain relief is of course acupuncture. This technique implies the application of very thin needles to specific areas all over the body that are believed to control the flow of vital energy. Pain is regarded as imbalance of this energy circulation and needles are used to set it right. Numerous studies on the subject of acupuncture report that during its practice the brain produces increased amounts of endorphins – natural painkillers produced within the body. Fact is that acupuncture is very beneficial for relieving chronic pain and certain types of acute pain. The procedures are painless and with repeated use can deliver effects comparable to strong pain relief drugs.
Physical therapy makes part of traditional medicine, however people often regard it as an alternative to painkillers. Physical therapy involves physical manipulation of the affected area, which helps restore the proper function of muscles and joints faster. This technique should only be performed by a certified specialist and if used correctly and repeatedly, physical therapy can be as beneficial for chronic pain relief as drugs like Tramadol.
Electric stimulation is often used for relieving chronic pain associated with conditions such as arthritis. This technique involves application of weak electrical charges to the affected area, which in turn influences the functioning of nerve cells and blocks the transmission of pain signals to the brain. This is practically the same mechanism of action that is the base for such drugs as Tramadol, however it is achieved without affecting the chemical balance of the body.
Biofeedback is an alternative pain relief technique that is somewhat similar to meditation. It uses the power of mind and relaxation for relieving pain. This technique is particularly helpful in conditions of chronic pain that can otherwise be relieved only with the use of painkiller drugs. Biofeedback involves relaxation and focus on the bodily functions that are called to fight pain without the use of additional substances or devices.
Homeopathic medicine may be a bit controversial but its effectiveness in some conditions has been confirmed. This technique uses small amounts of the same chemical agents that are causing the condition leading to pain. And by using the “like cures like” concept, homeopathic medicine helps relieve different types of chronic pain conditions.
Magnetic pain relief is somewhat similar to electric stimulation, as it also blocks the transmission of nerve signals to the brain. However, magnetic pain relief, as you may guess from the name, uses magnetic fields instead of electrical charges, contained in medical grade magnets that are to be applied to affected areas. Magnetic therapy is often used for chronic pain relief as it requires repeated use. If you have acute pain it may be better to buy Tramadol and use it right away.
Sciatica or sciatic nerve pain can be the most distressing of conditions to suffer with. With its various potential causes as well, knowing the correct treatment can also be a great dilemma.
One potential cause of sciatica is tight muscles, and in particular tight Piriformis or Hamstring muscles.
These muscles are a potential source of sciatic pain due to their position relative to the sciatic nerve as it passes through the buttock & down the leg.
The sciatic nerve itself is formed from 5 nerve roots which leave the spine in the lower back region. As these nerve roots leave the spine, they come together to form the sciatic nerve.
This nerve then passes through the buttock region, which is where the Piriformis muscle is situated. Consequently, as the sciatic nerve passes through the buttock area, it also passes straight through, or underneath (it varies from person to person) the Piriformis muscle.
As the sciatic nerve then continues on its journey down the back of the leg, it also encounters the hamstring muscles, which are situated at the back of the thigh. Once again, the sciatic nerve passes through the hamstrings on its way.
Therefore, if either of these muscles are tight, they place increased stress across the sciatic nerve. This can be quite literally due to a squeezing effect on the nerve, or also due to the tightness not allowing the sciatic nerve to move as freely as it should be able to. Either way, the tightness places increased stress across the nerve, potentially resulting in pain.
In order for the body to be able to heal the sciatic nerve from the increased stress and the subsequent pain which has resulted, a suitable exercise programme needs to be embarked upon.
It is easier to show these exercises with the use of diagrams, therefore I have placed a link at the bottom of this article which will show you the best way to stretch these muscles.
Tightness in muscles can also be associated with weakness of other muscle groups. This is referred to as ‘Muscle Imbalance’ and is one of the main causes of sciatica.
Especially if you feel that your sciatica is beginning in your buttock region, as opposed to your lower back, their is a fair chance it is muscle imbalance which is the cause of your pain.
Following on from this, if your pain begins in the buttock area, there is a good chance it is specifically a tight Piriformis muscle which is responsible for the sciatica you are suffering. If this is the case, introducing a Piriformis stretch should assist with resolving your pain.
In summary, tight muscles can, without doubt, be a cause of sciatica. In such circumstances, an appropriate stretching exercise programme will clearly be needed. This in turn will reduce the stress being placed across the sciatic nerve and therefore assist the body in healing yourself from the pain you are suffering.
Hip replacement surgery is no fun, especially the fifth time around. Let me explain. At first my husband had his right hip replaced. After surgery, he went to rehab for a couple of weeks and when he came home he was fairly self-sufficient. A year later he had the left hip replaced. Having been through surgery just a year prior he knew what to do to speed up his recovery. We were happy to have the surgeries behind us and glad we did them. My husband could walk without the terrible pain in his hips. We of course thought this was the end of hip surgeries.
Approximately 8 years later my husband called me from work because he had terrible chills and wanted me to bring him a sweater. By the time I got to him he was not making much sense so I took him directly to the emergency room of our local hospital. After several hours it was determined he had a serious staph infection ( not MRSA fortunately) in his left hip. The doctors still don’t know what caused it. He needed to have the left prostheses removed and be on antibiotics for 6 weeks. This surgery left him without a hip joint and he was unable to move his left leg. Also, being 8 years older than when he had his first surgery, he was not quite as strong as he was back then. He could not get around as well by himself as the first time around. We needed additional gadgets to help with every day tasks.
Getting in and out of the car was an ordeal because he had to twist and bend to get onto the seat. At first we put a plastic bag on the seat to make it more slippery but it kept crumbling up and falling on the floor. I finally discovered a seat that swivels and a handy bar gadget to put in the car door frame to hold on to as an aid in getting into the car (both inexpensive). Getting in and out of the car became easier and less painful.
After three months we scheduled surgery to get a new hip joint. Unfortunately the infection came back, and he had to have surgery again to wash out the infection and wait four more months for surgery without a hip joint.
Finally he had surgery, but had to wear a brace for 3 months which again limited his mobility. During that time I embarked on a search for inexpensive products to help improve his mobility and give me a break. I also found some entertaining things to do to maintain our sanity during nine months of constant togetherness. Today, he is walking with the use of a walker and the brace will be removed next month. Meanwhile, the arthritis in my hands is causing me some issues, so I think I need to find some nifty little gadgets to help me out!
If you have found yourself in a situation whereby you need a little bit of help with mobility challenges, please visit my website where you will find unique, inexpensive gadgets to help get in and out of the car, help in the bedroom and bathroom and some fun things to do.
Whenever anything goes wrong with the children, we all want to blame the parents. See an out-of-control teen and the instinctive responses all kick in. Broken marriage, broken children. While there may be some justice in this when it comes to behavior, it’s less fair when scientists start announcing genetic causes for how children turn out. Take obesity as an example. How or why some people end up carrying more weight than others is not simply down to the genes they inherit from their parents. At some point, children have to take responsibility for themselves. They are the ones taking the day-to-day decisions on how to live their lives.
The latest “official” statistics on male pattern baldness claim it affects two-thirds of all men. In reality, all men slowly lose their hair as they age. Come the time to enter the ranks of the retired, the hairline will have receded and scalp will be showing through the thin wisps on top. As that ancient Brit, King Canute, discovered, you can sit on the beach at low tide but, no matter how much you command the sea not to come back in, it will. Biology is fixed by the clock. Hair thins and drops out. So why do some younger men lose their hair before the usual time?
Well, here come those pesky genes, specifically one or two on the X chromosome regulating how men react to the different versions of testosterone floating around in the bloodstream. Really, it’s all the fault of dihydrotestosterone. All men produce it but, if you have the wrong genes, this will trigger early hair loss. Did you know you get your X chromosome from your mother? She has two: one from her paternal grandmother and one from her mother. So if your your maternal grandfather had male pattern baldness, you are doomed. An exaggeration, of course, because many different genes contribute, deciding whether you will go completely bald or only lose enough hair to form that magic M. There are also environmental factors. Your hair loss can be accelerated by high stress, and by the presence of diabetes or heart disease. Diabetes in particular is significant because it affects the amount of testosterone in the blood.
Given all this science, it’s a relief to know we now have Propecia to help us out. So let’s be clear about its limitations. Propecia is a wonderful drug that really does stop hair loss and encourage some regrowth. But it has absolutely no effect on your genes, cannot do anything to help prevent or treat diabetes, and is powerless in the face of a stroke or heart attack. All that’s for you to deal with as best you can. Lifestyle changes can help. If you prefer positive action, Propecia prevents the natural process of testosterone turning into dihydrotestosterone so, no matter what you genes were programmed to do, your hair will not be affected. For those who decide to go with the flow (as nature intended), you can draw comfort from the latest studies showing more people think bald men are older, more distinguished and wiser than younger men with hair. They are not pretending to be something they are not. Of course, not all studies give truthful results.
